Proposed boundary change to the Malvern Hills AONB
A change to the AONB boundary is under consideration. The proposal is to extend the boundary northwards. A web page with more details is available.
Annual Review 22-23
We have just published our Annual Review of what the AONB Partnership did in 2022-23.
The Tour
Every year we try to run a tour for the Partnership, round some of the projects we’ve been doing. In 2022 it majored on Nature Recovery and we made a little video of the day.
Arts in the AONB
Arts Council England and the National Association of AONBs has just signed and agreement to work more closely together and use the arts to engage people in the landscape. As much as we know can be found on our new arts page.
Autumn in Malvern Festival Walk
Do take a look at the Autumn In Malvern Festival programme . Learn how the famous creative spirits of the Malvern were inspired by our beautiful landscape. Walk into that landscape and hear about its effect on our culture on the 16th October with David Armitage: the programme tells you how to book tickets.
Walks with Ledbury Poetry Festival
We just completed 4 walks with authors and poets around the AONB. We also took young poets up on the hills to tell them tall tales from high hills, to be fashioned into poems. To get a better idea of what we with whom, take a look at our Poetry Festival Page.
Farming in Protected Landscapes National Case Studies
Just published is a a report into some of the good work that the Farming in Protected Landscapes grant programme has done in its first year of existence.
Queen’s Plantinum Jubilee
Our thanks go to all who helped put the Herefordshire Beacon to its traditional use, as a beacon. This time it was just a gas-lit fire, and for those who weren’t there and would like to get a flavour of what it was like, we’ve created a short video of the event.

The Malverns through Different Eyes: we grant aided a video from Reaction Theatre that takes a different view point about the outdoors in lockdown: watch and think.

Plant a Tree for the Jubilee
Plant a tree for the Jubilee. The Queen’s Platinum (70yrs) Jubilee is in 2022. The Queen’s Green Canopy has been launched to plant trees to celebrate the occasion. Take a look at the website and if you’re within the Malvern Hills AONB, get in touch; we maybe able to help.

60 Years of Malvern Hills AONB
To celebrate 60 years of the Malvern Hills AONB, 60 trees were planted with help of local landowners: no trees were harmed in the making of this electronic leaflet for the 60 Trees for 60 Years project.
